Whenever you end up watching an excellent show on Netflix, the expectations go a little higher and itâs hard to find the same level of brilliance.
You only want to commit to something that is thoroughly entertaining and worth indulging in.
Fair enough!
Series like Breaking Bad has literally raised the par when it comes to wonderful crafting and engaging the emotions of the audience.
Sometimes all you want is to watch is an immersive drama to unwind.
Thankfully, Netflix – the Streaming Giant, never disappoints and always delivers.
Thanks to Spectrum Internet you can have a pristine streaming experience and enjoy watching the movies.
Today, Iâm going to share a few promising drama titles that I incredibly enjoyed.
Here are some of the best binge-worthy drama shows on Netflix you should see:
- Mindhunter.
- The West Wing.
- Maniac.
- The Haunting of Hill House.
- The Crown.
1. Mindhunter
Casting Jonathan Groff, Anna Torv, Holt McCallany, Hannah Gross, Cotter Smith, and others, this drama has received rave reviews.
David Fincher is the executive producer of this excellent show.
The drama is based on true events.
The setting is the late 1970s and the show covers the FBI criminal profiling unitâs early days. The story revolves around Bill Tench and Holden Ford, two FBI agents from their Behavioral Science Unit. They interview some imprisoned serial killers aiming to understand why they do what they do.
The show is surprisingly funny, wildly engrossing, and methodical. You will witness the terrific art of filmmaking by Fincher in multiple episodes of the first two seasons.
Also, you’ll discover a whole new insight into human behavior. It wouldnât be wrong to call this series addictive and deliciously entertaining.
No wonder the audience is raving about the show!
2. Maniac
This limited series is very different from the usual content you watch on TV.
Truly unique and rather overwhelming spin on the sci-fi genre!
The action unfolds in Earthâs advanced version where two despondent and dejected individuals are trying to pull off a successful yet mind-boggling pharmaceutical trial.
Casting Jonah Hill, Emma Stone, Justin Theroux, and others, the drama is a little uneven.
However, the fantastic performances make it worth watching.
Their pharmaceutical experiment was meant to cure their ills. It results in making them live in various scenarios and fantasies.
The protagonists play several different versions of themselves in different settings from fantasy worlds to crime stories.
You should watch it to fully delve into it!

3. The Haunting of Hill House
This show is perhaps the most ambitious project of the filmmaker, Mike Flanagan. And he has delivered it!
Inspired by a seminal ghost tale by Shirley Jackson, the cast of the show includes Michael Huisman, Carla Gugino, Mckenna Grace, Kate Siegel, and others.
The show revolves around the haunted lives of the Crain family. The show slowly unveils their titular haunted mansion and several years of grief and trauma that the family endured.
Mike Flanagan has proved with his previous projects that he has got a knack for well-designed scares and upsetting visuals. He ties these scares into a great, intertwining tale of a family that is tinged with tragedy.
The show is full of emotional revelations and horrific moments to give you chills down your spine.
All in all, the haunting of the Hill House was a great success!
4. The Crown
The Crown is the most expensive series on Netflix to date and is considered one of the best dramas on Netflix.
Casting Claire Foy, Jared Harris, Matt Smith, John Lithgow, and others, the show focuses on Queen Elizabeth IIâs early reign. The show is impressively directed in a lavish yet staid tone.
Young Elizabeth marries Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, and lives the life of a privileged princess before transitioning into the Queenâs role.
From there on, she learns to be two persons, one who is royal, and the one with her own dreams and hopes.
However, she is to spend her life with the sole mission of âthe crown must always win.â And this means being true to her duty and sacrifice whenever needed.
The Crown is fascinating and engrossing.
You will fall in love with the fairytale depiction of the monarch. The trappings of power, the claustrophobia, and weariness amidst the lavish lifestyles of this regal world will have you glued to your screen.
Once you watch it, it is going to leave a lasting impact on you.
Every time I see Meghan and Harry these days on my Spectrum TV package or anyone from the royal family for that matter, it takes me back to this beautiful show.
5. The West Wing
The West Wing is the magnum opus of Aaron Sorkin.
You may think that this is an exaggeration but many will agree with this.
Casting Martin Sheen, Alison Janney, Bradley Whitford, Rob Lowe, and others, the drama is an ode to good and fair people trying to perform well at their jobs.
The show is an engaging depiction of what happened behind the scenes of the grand White House.
Also, it is a charming love tale, a moving drama, and a hilarious comedy, all rolled into one. The drama does go downhill after Aaron Sorkin leaves. But you’ll never regret watching the first few seasons.
The final two seasons also entail a new and creative voice. The star-studded cast makes it a must-watch.
Safe to say, the drama is smart, entertaining, and somewhat addictive!
